GET A ROOM
Get a Room is a contemporary discussion of women and sex. With an immediately engaging plot and plenty of colorful characters, Get a Room drops the viewer head first into a world of conviction, debate, and question. Should women and sexuality ever intersect in public? How far is too far when it comes to personal freedoms, speech, and expression? Who draws that line? What happens when all the lines are crossed? Get a Room is comedic, serious, awkward, powerful and much more.
Performed by Rebekah Blocker, Leslie Thomas, Camea Osborn, Dianna Harris, & Asia Elliot
Reuben and Charlotte Johnson are an elderly white couple living in the now run-down Ebling Park neighborhood of a Midwestern metropolis. Having moved there in the youthful days of their marriage, the couple has seen the neighborhood transform from bustling and industrious to crime ridden and low-income with the onset of white flight and the changing economic face of the nation. The Johnsons have been there through it all, and regardless of the inhabitants, they have always been active residents of Ebling Park, kindly going about their business. All of this changes one day when their son, Charlie, pays them a visit from his home in the suburbs and encourages them to move for fear of their safety.
Performed by Michael Sherer, Ben Young, Krystal Gartley, Rebekah Blocker, Andrew Thomas, & James Gavins
